StopTB Romania Partnership’s founding organizations (Romanian Angel Appeal Foundation, the Association for Supporting Patients with Multidrug Resistant Tuberculosis, Center for Health Policies and Services Foundation and the National Union of Organizations of People living with HIV / AIDS) have submitted proposals to the Ministry of Health’s Project of Government Decision amending and supplementing Government Decision no. 400/2014 for the approval of service packages and contract framework regulating the conditions for granting medical assistance within the health insurance system for the years 2014-2015.
Proposals aimed an active involvement of family physicians, in the detection of new cases of tuberculosis, TB patients treatment and surveillance, through:
– Referrals to specialist, of new found active TB patient, to confirm the diagnosis
– Take out the TB patient confirmed by the specialist and strictly supervised treatment application
The proposals were made based on measures contained in the recently approved National Tuberculosis Control Strategy for the period 2015-2020.
The signatories hope that the Ministry of Health will respond positively and will include proposed additions, to the benefit of people with tuberculosis and the population of Romania.
